The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa will be played on Thursday at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan, India will go with the less experienced B team.
Most of India’s players have left for Australia to participate in the T20 World Cup. So in this series, the youth are being given a chance. On the other hand, South Africa will play with their full-strength team.
The match will start with a delay of half an hour. BCCI told that the toss will be held at 1:30 pm. While the match will start at 2:00 pm. Two members (Deepak Chahar and Sreyas Iyer) of the ODI series are also part of the Indian Stand By squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
India vs South Africa 1st ODI: Pitch report
Both India nor South Africa have not played any ODI match in this stadium so far. Most of the international matches here have been between Afghanistan and West Indies. In ODIs, the average score in the first innings here has been 230 runs.
However, this time due to India’s play, the mood of the pitch may be different. Team India has played two T20 International matches here in which it made totals of 195 and 199 runs. Considering this, the pitch can be batting-friendly.
