India vs South Africa 3rd T20I series is set to take off where Virat Kohli has been rested from the game. The event occurs on Monday when he flies back to Mumbai after the win in Guwahati.
The player makes it to Mumbai on Monday itself. While BCCI release a statement that he has been rested from the final T20I.
Kohli will be linking up with the team for the fixture of India vs Australia on the 6th of October starting the T20 World Cup.
He gives a score of 49 in 28 balls for the previous game in Guwahati before flying back to Mumbai. India wins the match against South Africa by 16 runs in the game.
Previously the player was put on rest during the ODI and T20I fixture against the West Indies where the decision was due to the lean patch then.
The player was on a break for almost a month and wasn’t on the grounds during the period even for practice. However, the case is not the same this time as the player seems to be joining the first fixture of the T20 World Cup 2022.
Currently, there are speculations that Shreyas Iyer will be taking up the spot of Kohli in the future game against South Africa.
Kohli has been playing the matches back to back and there has been a lot of workload to his name where the authorities will have to be a little careful of his load.
There is news that the player has been put on rest considering the workload and the authorities want the player to be in a fresh mood mentally and physically for the T20 World Cup.
