Harmeet Desai faced Dang Quiu after Sathiyan’s first singles. Desai lost the match 7-11, 9-11, 13-11, 3-11. Manav Thakkar then defeated Ricardo Walther 13-11, 6-11, 11-8, 12-10. After this, Saathiya performed brilliantly in the match against Kyu, giving India a 3-1 victory.

India also got good news from the women’s table tennis team. India beat the Czech Republic 3-0. Manika Batra defeated Hana Matelova 11-6, 11-6, 8-11, 12-10. After this Akula Sreeja and Diya Chitale also won their respective matches. The Indian women’s team had to face defeat against Germany in the first match of the group stage.
