Women’s Asia Cup 2022: Host, Today’s match

In the ICC Men’s Asia Cup 2022, the Indian cricket team disappointed the cricket fans and the team was eliminated from the tournament after losing two big matches of Super-4 to Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Now, this mega tournament has returned again, but this time it is the Women’s Asia Cup 2022.

Cricket fans’ hopes are once again with Team India. In the recently held India-England ODI series in England, the team that won the series 3-0 is bound to be hoping for a win.

The Women’s Asia Cup was started in the year 2012 in the T20 format. Its last edition was played in 2018. The fourth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup was scheduled to be held in Bangladesh in 2020, but it was postponed to 2021 due to Covid-19. After this, the fourth edition was postponed.

Now in 2022, the fourth edition of the T20 format of the Women’s Asia Cup is scheduled to be played in Bangladesh. If the 50-over format matches in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008 are also added, it will be the eighth edition of the Asia Cup.

Host of the Women’s Asia Cup 2022

Bangladesh is the host of this year’s Women’s Asia Cup. All matches of the tournament will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. This is the first time a tournament is being played in Bangladesh since Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh in October 2018. At the same time, after hosting the T20 World Cup in 2014, this will be the first time that Bangladesh is hosting a Women’s International tournament.

Women’s Asia Cup 2022: Today’s Match

India’s first match is against Sri Lanka on 1 October. The last time India and Bangladesh reached the final of the Asia Cup was in Asia Cup 2018. Bangladesh won the trophy after defeating India in the final played in Kuala Lumpur. At the same time, the India-Pakistan match is going to be held on 7 October.

In the Asia Cup tournament held so far, India has won two Asia Cup tournaments in the T20 format and all four Asia Cup tournaments in the 50-over format.
