Foreign players of ISL 2022-23: AIFF allows clubs to sign a maximum of six foreign players

All India Football Federation (AIFF) is a popular football organization where that recently get a request from the football club. the request is about signing more foreign players into the club.

Previous year it was allowed to sign a total of six players in the club out of which four or three players will be of different nationalities and one will be from the AFC member association and the left two other players can watch the match from the stands.

The players who are not allowed to play the matches and are signed to the club are like a waste of resources. Sunando Dhar, CEO of Leagues and development for All India Football Federation (AIFF) recently speaks with a popular sports news portal.

He states, “Clubs have called me and asked to allow some foreign players to be on the substitutes bench.”

Adding further he says, “I’ve asked them to write to AIFF formally and we would take it up at the league committee meeting next week.”

There are many clubs that sign more players to the team are foreign players. Gokulam Kerala FC is the defending champions of the tournament where they sign 5 confirm players from foreign and they will be completing their quote by having a new player in replacement to the player from Tajikistan.

The club is going to confirm winger Daler Yodgorov’s replacement in the club. The owner of Gokulam Kerala owner VC Praveen speaks about the club.

He states, “The two additional foreign players have no role to play unless there is injury or suspension (to the regular foreigners)”. Adding further he clearly states, “If a foreigner is not performing well we have to replace him with an India. We want two foreign players to be allowed on the bench. Seeing another foreign player on the bench will keep up the pressure on those who are playing.”
