Santosh Trophy Knock-Out Stage to Be Hosted in Saudi Arabia in Feb 2023!

All India Football Federation (AIFF) will be hosting the matches for Santosh Trophy 2023 in Saudi Arabia. The fixture will roll out in February 2023 where it is the knock-out stage that will be hosted in Saudi.

The memorandum of understanding was signed in by AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey and Secretary General Shaji Prabhakaran this Thursday for the same.

The statement released by AIFF in a release, The idea is to host the knock-out phase of the Santosh Trophy in selected cities of Saudi for encouraging State-level players to dream big and also connect the large Indian community in Saudi with Indian football and be creating a win-win situation for both the Federations says AIFF.

The agreement will be coming as a part of the efforts of SAFF and AIFF which will not only enhance cooperation among key strategic partners in Asia but also offer the opportunity to consolidate stronger bonds through football and culture between the large Indian communities based in Saudi Arabia and Indian Football.

Adding further they state, The agreement will be allowing a wide range of activities, including the provision of technical support, the organization and hosting of youth competitions for both men and women on a regular basis, as well as the exchange of football and governance experts.

Kalyan Chaubey speaks, “It is a remarkable development for Indian football and they aim to create a new platform for Indian football and spread it among Indian fans all across the world. While he thanked the SAFF stating, My sincere thank to SAFF for their active cooperation in realising our goal.”

AIFF General Secretary Shaji Prabhakaran speaks, t is a box idea that he is sure will help Indian football to create a niche for itself among its loyal fans, who eagerly follow Indian football from wherever they are.

“Their aim is to take Indian football forward and explore all possibilities. This move, we are confident, will inspire players from across the nation to showcase their performance in front of a bigger audience.”
