The Return Of Shooting In Commonwealth Games 2026, Games Announced, Wrestling Out

The Games included in the Victoria Commonwealth Games 2026 have been announced. The Commonwealth Games Federation released the list of sports included in these games on Wednesday. Shooting has returned, while wrestling has been withdrawn.

26 events from 22 sports have been included in the list. There are also nine para sports among them. Shooting and archery were not included in the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham in July-August. There India won 61 medals including 22 Gold, 16 Silver, and 23 Bronze.

Most medals have been given by shooters

If you look at the history of the Games, India has got the maximum number of medals from shooters. India has won 564 medals in the Games so far. This includes 203 Gold, 190 Silver, and 171 Bronze. Out of these shooters have won 135 medals.

These include 63 gold, 44 silver, and 28 bronze. At the same time, India has got 114 medals in wrestling. Of these, the number of gold is 49, silver is 39 and bronze is 26.

Golf, BMX, and rowing to debut

Golf, BMX racing, and coastal rowing are going to debut in these games to be held in 2026. These games can also be included in the Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles in 2028. Apart from these three, 3X3 Basketball, 3X3 Wheelchair Basketball, Shooting, Shooting Para Sports, Mountain Bike Cross-country, Track Cycling, and Para-Cycling are included.

Golf, BMX, and rowing to debut
